Syllabus

  1. Sciography (10 hours)
    1. Introduction and terms of sciography
    2. Types of source of light: natural and artificial
    3. Principles of sciography
    4. Importance, use and application of sciography
    5. Types of sciography: orthographic, parallel projection and perspective projection sciography
    6. Exercises in sciography from design element to architectural drawings
    7. Application of sciography in geometrical and architectural drawings
  2. Colour Theory and its Applications (6 hours)
    1. Colour: colour wheel, colour scheme, properties of colour, effects of colour (physical, psychological, emotional)
    2. Application of colours in architectural buildings (exterior and interior)
    3. Composition of collage or magazine cover
  3. Appropriate Rendering Techniques in Buildings (6 hours)
    1. Floor plans including furniture layout
    2. Elevations
    3. Sections
    4. Site plan and master plan
    5. Landscape
    6. Shadow construction in plans and elevations
    7. Perspective drawing (exterior and interior)
  4. Architectural Rendering Development Skill in Different Mediums (8 hours)
    1. Rendering in architectural building: pencil rendering, pen and ink rendering, pencil colour and water colour rendering

Practicals

Forty-five hours of exercises: sciography projection of solid figures, walls, roof overhangs, colonnades, arches, steps, chimney stacks and dormer windows; sciography of a residential building set; colour wheel, colour scheme, tint and tone; application of colour in magazine cover or collage; rendering techniques on floor plans, site plans and master plans in different mediums; and delineation of a simple residence and interior and exterior perspective views with shadow construction.
