Project I

Syllabus

Under the direction of the project supervisor, each group of 2 to 4 students selects a topic related to Geomatics Engineering, including surveying, GIS, remote sensing, photogrammetry, geospatial data science, cartography, land administration, navigation systems, web GIS application or other relevant applications. In Project I students are required to complete the following works according to the category of project.

  2. Dissertation Type Project
    1. Background

    3. Objectives and scope of the work

  3. Experimental Type Project
    1. Background
    2. Need of the research
    3. Objectives and scope of the work
    4. Literature Review
    5. Experimental setup
    6. Methodology
    7. Data collection and compilation

Evaluation

  1. Selection of project type and supervisor: proposal submitted within two weeks, mentioning objectives, scope of work and outcome
  2. Mid-term progress presentation (4 weeks before end of term): group presentation and viva, 20 marks
  3. Final presentation and report submission (last week of term): draft report reviewed before final submission, evaluated by supervisor for 30 marks
  4. Full marks for Project I is 50
