The objective is to introduce the development of architecture in global and Nepali contexts, emphasizing the major modern movements (1920 to 1970) and their cultural, social and technological influences, critiquing modernism and tracing contemporary directions since 1970 so students can critically evaluate contemporary architecture as ecological, technological and socially responsive.
